3)  Here is a note from Ed, looking for info on the name
Staerett. His gr gr grandmother was named Janet b. @ 1848,
and cannot find anything on the name….  I checked the
spelling quickly and saw that the common spellings were
more often Starat(t) and Starett and that shows up in
Donegal in my records.  If you have addtional info, pass it
on !

Irish Family Name of the Day:
Rowan

Varient Spelling Groups:   #1821, #1819
From The Guide to the Various Spellings of Irish Family Names

History of the Name
The Rowan family of County Antrim, given in the Irish Book of Arms,
is said to have originated in Scotland. Another branch of the name is
found in Families of Co. Kerry, Ireland after the rebellion of 1641-2.
That line is traced to a George Rowan, and several related generations
are given.
Kerry historian Jeremiah King gave Ua Robhachain as O’Rowan
anciently.
In Nothern Ireland, Pynnars Survey gives us a Mr. Rowan or Rone,
in the footnotes as well as the text.  His entry involves the
mismanagement of his land, due primarily to his death.
