KC Irish Roots Cafe does Dublin Irish Fest Aug 2,3,4

The Irish Roots Cafe www.Irishroots.com
15 year repeat performance !

In Person
The Irish Roots Cafe will be at the Dublin, OH
Irish Fest next weekend, Aug. 2 – 4. This is our
longest running festival appearance – 15 years
now. So, if you’d like to meet with us in person
at the fest, please drop by… we have a
permanent spot, tables and all under the genealogy
tent up by city hall. You might also find me
(Mike O’Laughlin) at the Sean Nós song tent if
it springs up again this year !
See you there… http://dublinirishfestival.org/genealogy/

National Genealogy Launch
I’ll be launching the 4th edition of
the Book of Irish Families, great and small.
If you would like to pick a book up at the fest
let me know in advance – I will pre-package it
for you to pickup in person !
We have 34 books in the Irish Families project
and bring one of each county every year, but
always seem to sell out of different counties
each year !
With all the other books I have written or
published – well,it is impossible to bring
and stock all of them for the festival !
We will have the index and at least the cover
and content pages available this year…

Sean Nós project
The Irish Roots Cafe house band and myself
have been promoting ‘old style’ Irish song
in the midwest, and gave the first all Irish
Language show of its kind this year. Here is
a link to my trad and Sean Nós album with free

Repeat performance
Our house band will be doing a repeat Sean Nós show
on Sept. 15, in Lawrence, Kansas home of KU
and the Jayhawks. Here is our event page, if you
have an inkling to attend your support is needed!

You’ll be able to find me at the Sean Nós
tent at the Dublin, Ohio festival this year
too, assuming it will survive another year!
We also hope to find somewhere for
a small after party for Sean Nós as well !
So stop by our genealogy tent and let us know,
or send me an email in advance.
we might also record your singing of it…

Back in Kansas City
On our return to KC it looks like we may have
a small old style Sean Nós, song and dance session
the second week in August. It will likely be
mostly beginners on hand – all are welcome !
